Cumberland suspects each face 156 years

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Jeremy Priel and Michael Bell, the men accused of killing a 7-year-old girl and her uncle, face up to 156 years in prison if convicted on all charges.

“I don’t believe he did it; that’s not the type of person he is,” said a tearful Trisha Dunlap who went to Warren Central High School with the accused Bell. “It just hurts, it just hurts.”

The family of victim’s Jeremy and Kyleigh Crane sat closely together in the full courtroom. They didn’t want to comment following the hearing.

“It’s just a trying time for the family members,” said assistant prosecutor Denise Robinson.

It’s alleged the victims, whom were close with Michael Bell, were killed for two gaming systems that were later pawned off for $40 and an ounce of pot.

“It sometimes comes down to that really – a PlayStation and an Xbox,”said Robinson.

“Over a PlayStation and an Xbox, it’s not worth it,” said Dunlap.

Authorities aren’t sure who pulled the trigger in the Cumberland home on Monday, December 12th, but they say it won’t matter.

“Under Indiana law bother are equally culpable,” said Robinson.
