FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - A northeastern Indiana man who pleaded guilty to three counts of neglect of a dependent and one count of drunken driving after driving three blocks with four children strapped to his car's hood has been sentenced to 18 months on home detention.
The Journal Gazette reports Allen Superior Judge Wendy Davis sentenced 29-year-old Aaron Stefanski of Fort Wayne on Friday to four years in prison, but suspended 2.5 years of that sentence. She allowed him to serve the rest of his sentence on home detention so he could keep his two jobs and continue his treatment for alcohol addiction.
Stefanski told Davis he regretted his actions every minute of every day since his arrest. He says he has not been able to see or talk to his children since.
