DCS report released in infant's death

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - New information was released on Thursday in the case of an infant authorities say was starved to death.

Bambi Glazebrook is awaiting her trail date in the Marion County Jail. The 29-year-old is being held on preliminary charges of murder and neglect resulting in death. The mother of five is accused of starving her 3-month-old son to death. According to Glazebrook’s family members, Philip Robey was just skin and bones at the time of his death.

“His cheeks were sunk in and he looked deformed,” said Martha Robertson. “He looked like if you touched him he was going to break.”

The Indiana Department of Child Services released its report on the boy’s death Thursday afternoon. The 165-page report details the attempts to find Glazebrook in the months and weeks before Robey died. In one report, there is a running log showing how many times caseworkers made repeated visits to Glazebrook’s home. Caseworkers left voicemail messages, sent letters to the mother’s home, but that yield little results. One of the addresses they visited was a different location than where Philip was ultimately found.

On Nov. 8, a 911 call placed by Glazebrook sent police to her home in the 1200 block of Earhart Street. Police found the infant extremely malnourished and not breathing. He was later pronounced dead. The reports had mixed statements about Glazebrook. In one document, an observer described Glazebrook as being very good with the care of her children. In that same report the worker stated Glazebrook at times appeared frustrated with Phillip and yelled at him at times to be still.

Glazebrook has four other children. Three of the children were placed in foster care before Philip’s death. The fourth is currently staying with relatives. Philip’s father, Gregory Robey, is also mentioned in the reports. Currently he is not facing any charges, but it’s believed he was staying with Glazebrook in the weeks before Philip died.

Concerned about Glazebrook’s parenting started in September of 2012. Glazebrook was applying for assistance when a social worker noticed she had a black eye and her daughter had several bruises. The 29-year-old gave no explanation as to what happened.
