Bambi Glazebrook charged in death

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A 2-month-old found dead last week likely died of starvation, according to court documents.

Bambi Glazebrook, 29, was charged with murder and neglect of a dependent resulting in death after calling 911 about her son not breathing.

The boy, Phillip Robey, slept in a drawer of an entertainment center in the living room, Glazebrook told investigators, the probable cause affidavit said.

At least two friends had confronted Glazebook, concerned about the baby’s health leading up to his death. One friend told investigators she told Glazebrook she worried the infant would die. Glazebrook reportedly told the friend to mind her own business, according to court documents.

A forensic pathologist found no obvious injuries on the boy. It appeared the baby died of starvation, weighing only 5 pounds, 8.2 ounces.

The Department of Child Services has removed children from Glazebrook’s care in the past, though court documents made it unclear how many children were removed and why.

Officials with the Marion County prosecutor’s office said they have requested a 72-hour hold on Glazebrook while they continue to investigate her. Glazebrook is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
