MADISON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - Madison County authorities are investigating a gruesome discovery.
They found more than a dozen dog carcasses in Fall Creek Thursday night.
A nearby resident spotted the bodies.
Authorities said most of the dogs were severely cut some were decapitated.
24-Hour News 8 spoke with Peggy Riley whose husband spotted the remains.
"First I thought maybe Satanical stuff and he thought they were pit bulls so we thought maybe someone was fighting them and discarding them there. You know how people are. I didn't know what to make of it. All I know is he was very devastated and he wanted somebody to deal with it,” said Peggy Riley, whose husband found dogs.
Authorities are investigating why the animals were dumped and apparently killed in such a brutal fashion.
