RICHMOND, Ind. (AP) - Parents accused of starving their infant son to death last year in eastern Indiana will stand trial on murder.

The Palladium-Item reports the trial of Amy R. Hockett, 22, and Joseph L. Pierson, 25, of Richmond begins Monday. Each is charged with murder, neglect of a dependent resulting in death and neglect of a dependent in the death of 3-month-old Khaiden Hockett.

Khaiden was found unresponsive last Feb. 5 inside the couple's home. The cause of death was ruled dehydration because of starvation.

A probable cause affidavit indicates the couple's home was filthy and filled with feces and urine when the boy died.

Hockett and Pierson pleaded not guilty. Judge Gregory Horn earlier rejected a motion to move the trial after attorneys argued finding an impartial jury was impossible.
