BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) - A former Indiana University football player was arrested Friday morning for an armed robbery that occurred on Oct. 30.

Police obtained a warrant for 24-year-old Damarlo Belcher on Nov. 7. Police say the incident occurred in the 1100 block of North Walnut Street in Bloomington. Police received information on the unreported robbery while investigating another case.

Officers say the incident was set up as a drug deal, but the suspected buyer robbed the dealer of four ounces of marijuana. Detectives learned a third party arranged for Belcher to buy the drugs.

Belcher was arrested at a relative's home in Fort Wayne Friday and was taken into custody. During the arrest, police confiscated 12 grams of marijuana and $795 in cash.

Police are continuing to investigate Belcher's criminal activity. Anyone with more information on this incident is asked to call the Bloomington Police at 812-339-4477.
