Father gets prison time in baby's death

A man faces years in prison for his role in his baby girl’s death last summer.
Guillermo Ascension Flores was sentenced earlier this month to 20 years in prison, with 16 years suspended. He was also ordered to serve eight years on probation.
He was arrested after his 4-month-old-daughter, Irdessa Vazquez, died in June 2011 at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health. The Marion County coroner’s office ruled the child’s death from blunt force trauma a homicide.
