FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The FBI revealed Friday that five properties in addition to the two owned by Jason Fabini and his brother Michael were raided on Thursday as part of the agency's Safe Streets initiative. It's still not known what agents were looking for or if anyone has been arrested.

The FBI confirmed the raids took place at the following seven properties:

  • 6619 Cherry Hill Parkway - a home owned by Michael Fabini in the Cherry Hill subdivision
  • 8710 Wheelock Road - a home owned by Jason Fabini
  • 4209 Wedgewood Drive - a home located southeast of the intersection of Maplecrest and Stellhorn
  • 7916 Wayward Court - a home located northwest of the intersection of Goeglein and Maysville
  • 9634 Stowaway Cove - a home in the Chandler's landing subdivsion off Wheelock Road owned by Kevin Stevens.
  • 10216 Sona Marie Court - a home located southeast of Dupont and Coldwater
  • 7015 Indiana 930 in New Haven - FBI said this property is not a residence

The third home is located in the Chandler's Landing sub-division at 9634 Stowaway Cove.   A spokesperson for the FBI says the investigation is part of its Safe Streets initiative.

The Allen County Recorder's office lists the Cherry Hill home as being owned by Michael Fabini and the Wheelock Road home as being owned by Jason Fabini.  The two Fabinis are brothers.  Jason Fabini is a former NFL player who played high school football at Bishop Dwenger and attended the University of Cincinnati.

County records indicate the home on Stowaway Cove is owned by Kevin Stevens.

Our sister station WANE said Jason Fabini could be seen talking to agents outside his home located at 8701 Wheelock Road.  After some boxes were taken out of the garage, the various law enforcement agencies there cleared the scene.

At around 5 pm, Jason Fabini issued a statement indicating that he was not a target of the investigation.  Read the entire statement here

FBI agents backed two trucks up in the driveway of Michael Fabini's home located at 6619 Cherry Hill Parkway. Law enforcement officials have been putting various items from the home inside the trucks for most of the morning. At one point police dogs were taken in and out of the home, although the FBI would not comment on what the canines were trained  to find.

Neighbors say they weren't surprised the home was raided based on activity they've witnessed.  Also on the scene were officers with the Allen County Police Department, the Fort Wayne Police Department, the New Haven Police Department, the ATF and the Indiana State Police.

The FBI was at the Chandler's Landing home for at least three hours and an Allen County Sheriff's Deputy remains on the scene.  A neighbor said that agents removed computers and guns from the home.

David Crawford with the FBI would not say specifically what the agency is investigating, but he did say it is a large operation.

According to the FBI web site, the Safe Streets Violent Crimes initiative was started back in 1992 as a means to help keep neighborhoods safe. Our sister station WANE has a crew on the scene and this story will be updated when more information becomes available.
