SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - A Greensburg man is facing formal charges for what police said was his role in a Shelbyville gas station robbery that ended in a shooting, 24-Hour News 8 news partner the Shelbyville News reports .
David Hobbs, 23, Greensburg, was in court Monday, charged with robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, two counts of robbery and theft.
Police said he admitted stealing cigarettes from the CountryMark gas station at 215 E. Broadway St. on Dec. 3.
A clerk at the store confronted him, then pulled a gun out and fired, striking another man who was with Hobbs at the store, Christopher Meisberger, 30, Shelbyville, police said.
Meisberger was found nearby and was treated for a gunshot wound to the abdomen at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He does not face charges at this time, the newspaper reports.
