HENRY COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - A former New Castle correctional employee has been arrested for three felonies.
Former GEO Internal Affairs Unit employee, Richard Rice, 47, was arrested Thursday after he tried to enter the New Castle Correctional Facility carrying contraband, according to a release.
Rice was arrested and preliminarily charged with trafficking with inmates, a Class C felony, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, which was believed to be heroin, a Class D felony, and possession of marijuana over 30 grams, a Class D felony.
Rice was taken to the Henry County Jail.
He has been a prison guard at the facility since Feb. 2012.
