GARY, Ind. (AP) - Northwestern Indiana authorities have charged a Gary man with murder for allegedly fatally shooting two men who gave him a ride from a gasoline station.
Twenty-year-old Samuel L. Franklin was charged Monday with two counts of murder in the deaths of 21-year-old Terrell Frazier and 18-year-old Deshalone Williams.
The Times of Munster reports that witnesses told police Williams was driving his car Jan. 14 with Frazier in the back seat when they stopped at a gas station and Franklin climbed into the car.
A probable cause affidavit says Franklin asked Williams to stop at an intersection and then said, "This is the procedure," before fatally shooting both men in the head.
Investigators believe the victims had argued previously with Franklin about a burglary where a shotgun was taken.
