NEW YORK CITY (WISH) - New York police are trying to figure out why a graffiti artist went on a bloody rampage that led to a 28-hour manhunt.

Police arrested Maksim Gelman in Times Square Saturday.

They said early Friday morning he killed his stepfather, ex-girlfriend and her mother before running down and killing a person using a stolen car.

Police said he's also accused of stabbing and injuring at least four other people.

At the time of his arrest Gelman was armed with a bloodied kitchen knife. Possible charges against Gelman are still pending.
