HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - A wanted man lead police on a high speed chase in Hancock County and it was all caught on tape.

Robert McNutt, 40, took more than 15 officers on a wild ride that covered more than 20 miles in 20 minutes.

It all started when officers received reports of a possible drunk driver in a white mini van on I-70 west of Greenfield Sunday afternoon.

When police ran the plate, they discovered the van was stolen.

What officers didn't know at the time was the driver was a wanted man.

"What I also understand was he was an armed and dangerous he had that parole violation with an armed and dangerous tagged to it. So he was somebody who needed to be taken very seriously," said Greenfield Police Officer Major Derek Towle.

During the chase police recorded speeds of up to 94 miles an hour.

Five different times, officers threw down stop sticks to slow McNutt.

But, McNutt managed to get around them. At one point he side swiped a police car, but kept going.

Police said McNutt ended up leaving the road and cutting across a farmer’s field.

He drove into a tree line and then fled on foot. Officers used police dogs to track him down.

Four officers were injured during the chase, three from the Greenfield Police Department and one from the sheriff's department. The injuries were mostly minor.

McNutt is still in the hospital recovering from his injuries.

Police are still working on charges relating to the chase.
