INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Officers in Indianapolis have located an escaped fugitive after he fled from police custody Thursday afternoon.
Shortly after 2:30 p.m., IMPD officers were called to the 8100 block of E. 34th St. to the report of a burglary in progress.
Police were told the victim’s vehicle was seen leaving the area. Officers were able to locate the car nearby following a short pursuit.
The 17-year-old driver was taken into custody with a passenger and were identified as the suspects who burglarized the victim’s vehicle.
While processing paper work, one suspect opened the patrol car’s door, while handcuffed, and fled the area.
Officers located the fugitive shortly before 5 p.m. Friday. He was immediately taken into custody and taken to Juvenile Detention for processing.
