MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - Former Indiana State Police Sgt. Ryan Harmon was found to three counts of false informing during a bench trial Wednesday in Morgan Superior Court 2.
The counts are Class B misdemeanors. He faced five counts; he was found not guilty on one and the other count was combined with another count due its similarity.
A hearing for sentencing will be scheduled at a later date.
Indiana State Police said Ryan Harmon, 39, Martinsville, reported last February that a city employee had sexually battered a woman at a local restaurant. He contacted the city’s mayor and police chief to report the alleged incident.
