BEECH GROVE, Ind. (WISH) - It was written on a bathroom stall. The message was a threat addressed to seven girls at Beech Grove High School.
“All of them have to be taken as credible and investigated,” said Captain Robert Mercuri with Beech Grove Police Department.
Mercuri would not give specifics about the threat. He added the detectives are talking to the girls who were on the list and their parents.
Beech Grove City Schools sent out an email to 800 parents at the high school notifying them about the message. News of this investigation happened on the same day a Connecticut gunman stormed an elementary school, killing 20 children and 6 adults.
“It’s scares me to death,” said Paul Kaiser, Superintendent of Beech Grove Schools.
“We are entrusted with the safety of kids, and short of having metal detectors, there is no way to be perfectly safe.”
Beech Grove High School has a police officer that patrols the hallways. He is also the girls assistant basketball coach. In addition to the high school, all of the corporation’s school buildings have trained safety personnel.
Police still have no information on who is responsible for the threatening message. Just last week, Beech Grove police investigated another threat at district’s middle school.
