INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A 16-year-old was arrested for arson Wednesday night after investigators say she intentionally started a fire in a bedroom using a tampon.
The incident happened around 7 p.m. in the 2000 block of Southernwood Lane.
A grandmother told police she got into an argument with the teen about having boys over when the grandmother wasn’t home. The teenage girl became angry and said she was going to burn the house down, according to a police report.
When officers arrived, the mother had already extinguished the fire, but the bed and floor were damaged. An officer found a burnt tampon nearby.
The teen admitted setting the fire when she was interviewed by police. She was arrested on a preliminary charge of arson and taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
