INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department detectives are investigating following a homicide Wednesday afternoon.
An off-duty IMPD officer was flagged down by a resident in the 4000 block of Stratford Court, near East 42nd Street and North Post Road, around 1:30 p.m. and learned a dead body was possibly inside an abandoned apartment, according to a release.
Police say the unidentified body, possibly a man, was found inside deceased with a gunshot wound to the head.
Investigators have not determined the race or name of the man. This is being investigated as a homicide. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday morning.
