INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - When a police officer asked a teenager why he broke in to a local recreation center, he had a simple answer: he just wanted to go for a swim.
Officers were called to the Krannert Family Aquatic Center, 605 S. High School Road, around 1 a.m. Thursday when an alarm went off. As the officer waited for backup, he saw 19-year-old Kyle Doolin leave the building, according to an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department report.
Doolin complied with police commands and told the officer he used a tool to pick the lock so he could go swimming. Nothing inside the facility was damaged or missing, the report said.
Officers arrested Doolin on a preliminary charge of burglary.
