INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis police are seeking the public’s help to find a 17-year-old suspected in an armed robbery.

IMPD said officers were called to the 9300 block of Cherry Valley Court at about 10 a.m. Thursday. There, a man who was mowing his backyard told them his neighbor’s 17-year-old grandson had stolen his wallet at gunpoint.

The teen, he told police, had offered to cut the man’s grass for $5. When the man took out his wallet, the teen pulled out a gun and pointed it at the man’s chest, demanding all his money. The man complied. Police identified the teen as DeAndre Cody.

The man also told police the teen threatened to kill him if he told police or his grandparents about the incident. Detectives believe Cody may have been involved in at least one other robbery in the Lawrence area.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous, and information that leads to felony arrest may be eligible for cash reward.
