INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Police hope the public can help identify a man caught on surveillance tape illegally entering a day care center late one night earlier this month and donning children’s swimsuits.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said the man, described as white or Hispanic, about 5-foot-five-inches, with long black hair pulled back into a pony tail, gained access to the Kid Scape Day Care Center in the 7000 block of West Washington Street via a back window.

The suspect can be seen on camera trying on various girls’ swimsuits, then keeping a small two-piece bikini on as he walks through several rooms of the center. When he jumped over the front counter he set off a motion detector alarm, then jumped back over the counter, changed back into his own clothes and left the building before employees arrived to check on the alarm.

Center employees told police several items were disturbed, but it didn’t appear that anything was taken.

Anyone with information should call 262-TIPS (8477) or IMPD Southwest District detectives at 327-6400. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous, and information that leads to felony arrest may be eligible for cash reward.
