Ind. man agrees to plead guilty to 'sextortion'

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - An Indiana man has agreed to plead guilty to charges he tricked about a dozen teenagers in several states into stripping or performing sex acts on webcam that he recorded and used to coerce them into making more sexually explicit videos.

Documents filed Wednesday in federal court show Richard Finkbiner signed a plea agreement in which he would be sentenced to between 30 and 50 years in prison on charges including child exploitation, extortion and possessing child pornography.

U.S. Attorney Joe Hogsett previously said prosecutors intended to seek an effective life sentence if the Brazil man is convicted.

Prosecutors say the case is an example of "sextortion," in which Internet predators catch victims in embarrassing situations online and threaten to expose them unless they create sexually explicit photos or videos.
