FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say a northeastern Indiana man has been arrested on charges that he started a fire inside a landmark mosque in Ohio.
Indiana State Police say troopers and federal agents arrested 52-year-old Randy Linn of St. Joe at his workplace Tuesday in Fort Wayne. Police say Linn faces arson and aggravated burglary charges in connection with Sunday's fire at the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo.
Linn was jailed in Fort Wayne awaiting extradition to Ohio.
Ohio fire marshal's office spokesman Shane Cartmill tells The Blade of Toledo that investigators believe Linn is the person recorded by a surveillance camera outside the center.
The fire caused smoke and water damage at the mosque that sits along Interstate 75 near Toledo and has a golden dome that is visible for miles.
