SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (AP) - A Shelbyville man has pleaded guilty in the stabbing death of his 74-year-old landlady, but maintains he was not the one who killed her.

Under the plea agreement accepted by a judge Friday, 36-year-old William Goode would face 60 years in prison for felony murder in the January 2012 slaying of Genevieve Kelly.

Prosecutors say Goode killed Kelly during a burglary at her home in the city 25 miles southeast of Indianapolis. The Shelbyville News reports that Goode admits only that he was there when Kelly was slain, but claims he did not kill her. He says the killer also stabbed him in the leg.

Police found bloody clothes, a knife and items owned by Kelly under Goode's bed.

Goode will be sentenced Feb. 22.
