GOSHEN, Ind. (AP) - A man who struck and killed two bicyclists while driving on a northern Indiana road has pleaded guilty to charges of causing death while driving under the influence of drugs.

The Elkhart Truth reports 43-year-old Daniel Snead of Goshen broke down repeatedly during a hearing Friday in an Elkhart County court.

Nineteen-year-old Daniel Runion and 18-year-old David Anglemeyer were riding their bicycles east on a county road around 5:50 a.m. June 8, 2012, when they were struck by a westbound vehicle driven by Snead. Anglemeyer died instantly. Runion died later at a hospital in South Bend.

Snead was arrested Aug. 20 following an accident investigation.

Snead agreed to a sentence of 18 years in prison and six years in alternative placement. His sentencing is set for Feb. 14.
