INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - An Indianapolis attorney is facing criminal charges in a federal court after accusations that he bilked $2.5 million from clients.
William F. Conour, 64, made an initial court appearance on Wednesday after turning himself into authorities.
Conour is accused of running a scheme between December 2000 and March 2012, during which time he operated as Conour Law Firm, Conour Daly, Conour Devereux and Conour Devereux Hammond.
The criminal complaint said Conour would keep a majority of his clients’ settlements. In one case, he’s accused of never telling a client there was a settlement payment so he could keep it for himself.
The FBI is investigating. Anyone who thinks they may have been a victim should call 1-877-542-8979.
