NEW CASTLE, Ind. (WISH) - An escapee from the Henry County Jail was captured late Monday in nearby Hancock County.
Officials say David A. Kline escaped just before 6 a.m. on Monday.
Henry County Jail deputies were serving breakfast at the time. During breakfast, a correctional officer noticed Kline was not inside his cell.
Investigators determined David Kline escaped through a hole in the roof of another cell in the same cell block.
Greenfield Police received information Kline was at a hotel on the north side of their city near I-70 and State Road 9.
Police say it was just a matter of waiting for him to come out. Kline was with 3 other persons at the time and was taken into custody around 11 pm without further incident.
A warrant charging Kline with escape was issued by the Henry County Sheriffs Department.
Kline was originally arrested and incarcerated on Oct. 2 for unlawful possession of a firearm and use of a deadly weapon as a threat.
