CENTERTON, Ind. (WISH) - Routine traffic patrol led to a manhunt in Morgan County last week after police said a suspect ran away after a traffic stop.
Indiana State Police said Jonathon Powers, 37, Galveston, was traveling above the posted speed limit on Ind. 67 near Centerton when Bloomington Trooper Dustin Starnes pulled him over. Powers stopped, jumped out of the vehicle and ran, ISP said.
Further investigation revealed Powers was wanted on a parole warrant and a second court warrant through Marion County.
Off-duty troopers, Morgan County Sheriff's Department deputies and an Indiana Conservation Officer helped locate Powers.
He was arrested and preliminarily charged of with resisting law enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor, in addition to the two warrants. He was taken to Morgan County Jail.
