NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (AP) - A judge in Indiana has appointed two psychiatrists to examine an Alabama man charged with fatally stabbing his 2-year-old son.
The Indianapolis Star reported Friday that a Hamilton County judge assigned Indiana University School of Medicine doctors Stephanie Callaway and George Parker Wednesday to examine 30-year-old Micah William Harrison.
The Robertsdale, Ala., man was charged with murder last month in the Jan. 9 death of his son, Michael, at a relatives' home in Noblesville. Police say Harrison thought someone was trying to kill him when he stabbed the child in the chest with a kitchen knife and in the forehead with a nail-pulling tool.
The next day in court, Micah Harrison begged the judge to kill him.
The doctors have about two months to report to the court.
