LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WISH) - A Louisville man accused of killing a Carmel teen appeared before a judge Monday.

Gregory O'Bryan's attorney says a plea deal is still in negotiation. The case is getting a new prosecutor, following the November election, and the new prosecutor is not familiar with any plea deals.

Investigators say O'Bryan killed 18-year-old Andrew Compton in November 2010. Compton's body has never been found.

O'Bryan will be back in court in January for his next pre-trial hearing.

The judge insists that the trial be held in July, saying the case has dragged on long enough.
