Kokomo police investigate shooting

KOKOMO, Ind. (WISH) - Officers with the Kokomo Police Department were called to the intersection of Markland Avenue and Waugh Street just after 3 a.m. Sunday in response to a fight and a shot fired.

When officers arrived to the scene they spoke with 22-year-old Travis James Evans of Kokomo. He informed officers that he had been in an argument with 24-year-old Grant W. Small of Kokomo, according to a release.

The argument became physical. During the fight, Evans was shot once in the right wrist, police say. He was taken to Community Howard Regional Health for treatment.

Small was located an arrested for criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, a Class D felony.
