INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - An Indianapolis man was arrested Wednesday after he left his 3-year-old autistic child in a car unattended.
Ronald Albrecht, 33, was arrested for neglect of a dependent.
According to an Indianapolis Metropolitan police report, officers were sent to Garden City Trailer Park off of Rockville Road on the welfare of a child who had been unattended in a car for approximately 30 minutes.
In a nearby trailer, officers found Albrecht, who gave police a conflicting story as to how long the child was left in the car.
The child was taken to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health to be checked out by medical professionals. The report said Riley staff told police that the child’s diaper was very full, he wasn’t clean and it appeared that he had not eaten a meal.
