COLUMBUS, Ind. (The Republic) - A Columbus man is facing a neglect charge in connection to the death of a toddler over the weekend, 24-Hour News 8’s news partner, The Republic , reports.
Police arrested 30-year-old Thomas W. Gorski Wednesday morning on a preliminary charge of neglect of a dependent resulting in death, a Class A felony.
Evan McCue, a 19-month-old, was discovered lifeless in his home in the 2800 block of Lamplight Drive Sunday night. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
A preliminary autopsy report revealed that the child died from an injury to his head.
Police say more than 25 people have been interviewed and detectives have obtained 12 search warrants in the investigation.
Gorski is currently being held at the Bartholomew County Jail.
