GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) - Shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday, Greenwood Police were called to the Bloomfield State Bank to the report of a bank robbery.
When officers arrived to the bank, located at 893 East Main Street, witnesses told them the suspect, a Latino male, entered the bank with what appeared to be a black, semi automatic pistol.
The man was reportedly wearing a dark grey hooded jacket, black gloves and medical style mask.
The suspect approached a teller station with pistol in hand and said,“Give me the money please.”
The tellers complied, passing him the money in cash trays. The suspect took the money and fled the scene.
Within minutes of responding, Greenwood Police officers located a man who matched the suspect’s description.
The suspect was taken into custody and identified as 22-year-old German Adalberto Lazo.
He was taken to the Greenwood Police Department where he confessed to the incident. He was arrested and preliminarily charged with robbery, a Class B felony.
Lazo is currently being held at the Johnson County Jail.
