JACKSON COUTY, Ind. (WISH) - A Seymour, Ind. man is facing felony charges after he reportedly beat a 32-year-old woman.

Police were called to the 100 block of Mockingbird Lane in Jackson County late Sunday night in response to a verbal domestic disturbance. When police arrived, the man involved in the altercation had left the residence.

Upon leaving, deputies witnessed Zachary O. Lyle, 33, walking along US 31. Officers did not arrest Lyle at that time because they did not believe a crime had been committed.

Later that night, officers were called back to the residence and told that Lyle had returned to the home and beat 32-year-old Madeline Andrews. Lyle had again left the home before officers arrived.

Police stayed on scene for about an hour and later caught Lyle peeking into windows of the home. Lyle was arrested and taken to the Jackson County Jail, were he is facing charges of domestic battery in the presence of a child, two counts of intimidation, resisting law enforcement, disorderly conduct, and public intoxication.
