INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Cold Case Unit have made an arrest for a May 2000 murder.
Detectives served an arrest warrant for the May 1, 2000 murder of John Gurnell Rhoades.
The 58-year-old was strangled to death in his home on the 300 block of E. 12th St. in Indianapolis.
Rhoades’ mother was severely beaten during the attack that detectives believe was the result of a robbery.
DNA that was analyzed has been matched to 52-year-old Currie O’Bryant.
Bryant is currently at the Pendleton Correctional Facility. He received a guilty conviction in 2003 for five counts of attempted murder.
