Man charged in family's deaths seeks release

ROCKPORT, Ind. (AP) - A judge says he'll decide soon whether to allow a former Indiana state trooper to get out of jail while awaiting a third trial on charges that he killed his wife and two young children.
Defense attorneys for David Camm and prosecutors said Monday that they had agreed to move the trial to a county north of Indianapolis, far from where the shooting deaths happened in September 2000 in the Floyd County town of Georgetown near Louisville, Ky.
The Courier-Journal reports ( http://cjky.it/MeSKHy ) Camm's defense attorney argues he has a right to bail because of court delays since he was charged for the third time in 2009. The prosecutor blames much of the delay on Camm's attorneys.
Appeals courts have twice overturned jury verdicts convicting Camm of murder charges.
