INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A man already in jail on drug charges now faces new charges including murder in connection with a fatal shooting in Indianapolis last month .
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said Jason Wharton, 34, was arrested the day after the shooting on an unrelated warrant on narcotics charges, as well as a preliminary charge of possession of marijuana. He was still in Marion County Jail on Friday when he was served with a new warrant on charges of murder and possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.
The new charges come in connection with the shooting death of Ronnie Clark, 46, who was shot May 24 in the 200 block of North Gray Street.
