SCOTTSBURG, Ind. (AP) — A southern Indiana man has been convicted of killing his former wife and dumping her body in a rural wooded area.
A Scott County jury found 33-year-old Robert Perry guilty Wednesday of manslaughter, removing a body from a crime scene and other charges.
The Courier-Journal of Louisville, Ky. , reports Perry could be face up 56 years in prison when he's sentenced April 17 in the August 2010 death of 26-year-old Nina Keown. Her body was found three weeks after her mother reported her missing in August 2010.
Court documents state that Petty told investigators he choked his ex-wife on the bed of his Lexington-area home and dumped her body in a wooded area.
Relatives said the couple divorced in October 2009 but had made several attempts at reconciling.
