INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - An Indianapolis man is facing neglect charges and an OWI after police say he drove a vehicle while drunk and put three young passengers at risk.

Officials say a State Trooper was patrolling I-70 when he passed a 1998 Buick cross three lanes and tried to pass another car in the shoulder.

The trooper stopped the vehicle and noticed there were three children in the back seat without a seat belt. The children were ages two, four, and 13. When the trooper was speaking with the driver of the car, he smelled a strong odor of alcohol and signs of impairment.

According to a release from the Indiana State Police, a female passenger in the front seat told the trooper she wanted to get herself and her children out of the car because the driver was "acting crazy."

The driver of the vehicle was issued a sobriety tests, which he failed.

He has been identified as 39-year-old Patrick Pride.
