TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WISH) - A judge has sentenced a Terre Haute man to four years and nine months in federal prison for illegally selling a gun used to kill a Terre Haute police officer .
U.S. District Judge William Lawrence sentenced 41-year-old Scott Griffy on Wednesday after Griffy pleaded guilty to selling a gun to a known felon and illegally possessing a gun with a felony conviction.
Shaun Seeley shot and killed Officer Brent Long last July 11, then killed himself.
U.S. Attorney Joe Hogsett says two others were sentenced for making false statements to police in connection with the shootings: 23-year-old Heather Elkins was sentenced to 12 months in prison and two years of supervised release, and 52-year-old Roberta Utterback was sentenced to 21 months in prison and two years of supervised release.
