INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A man was sentenced in the death of his 20-year-old nephew.
Court officials say 37-year-old Richard Drollinger will spend 10 years in jail for the Feb. 2012 death of Derick Tanner. He was also sentenced for possession of cocaine, possession of a handgun, and for being a habitual substance offender.
Tanner was found dead inside a home on the west side of Indianapolis, near 16th Street and Livingston Avenue, shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 5, 2012. Inside the home officers found Derik Tanner suffering from an apparent gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say Tanner had just arrived at the residence when he was shot.
Drollnger was arrested shortly after Tanner's death.
