Man sentenced for Sparkle Majors murder

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - An Indianapolis man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the 2011 murder of Sparkle Majors.
Christopher Woods plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter for the April 18 murder. On Friday, Woods was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Police say Woods shot Majors in the head at the Presidential Estates Apartments . Major's two children were at home at the time of the murder.
Woods was arrested in April 2001 following a short foot chase at Community North Hospital, where security officers recognized the suspect.
