MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - A man who was found guilty of attempted murder and other charges stemming from a November shootout in Morgan County has been sentenced to 132 years in prison.
Richard Simmons was sentenced on four counts of attempted murder, serving 33 years for each of those counts, two counts of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, serving two years for each of those counts, one count of unlawful use of body armor, serving two years for that count, and possession of marijuana in which he will serve six months for that count.
Total, Simmons was sentenced to 132 years.
His counts of attempted murder will all be served consecutively, while other counts are concurrent.
