LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Lafayette Police said a man got away with an undisclosed amount of money after he robbed a Village Pantry early Sunday morning.
The Village Pantry is located on Schuyler Avenue and 17th Street in Lafayette. Lafayette Police say the suspect is described as a thin, black male, about 5 feet 8 inches tall.
Police say the suspect was last seen wearing a black and grey striped shirt and did not display a weapon. While there have been several robberies in Lafayette over the last several months, police do not think residents need to worry.
"Anytime you have areas that are accessible to the interstate, you're going to have an increase of personal property crimes and personal victim crimes," said Webb. "I have no reason to believe there's an up tick in robberies in the area that residents need to be worried or concerned about."
Police say there was one clerk inside at the time of the robbery, but no injuries occurred. If you have any information, you are asked to contact the Lafayette Police Department or the anonymous we tip hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME.
