KOKOMO (AP) - Prosecutors have struck a deal with a Kokomo man in which he would plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the death of his girlfriend and receive a 35-year-prison term.

The Kokomo Tribune reports the deal for Travis Funke in the death of Kelly Armstrong is spelled out in documents filed Wednesday in Howard Superior Court. The deal calls for the prison term to be followed by 15 years on supervised probation, and prosecutors would drop two lesser felony charges. It still needs approval by a judge.

Funke, who's in his mid-30s, has told police he killed the 27-year-old woman on July 8, 2011 after they argued over drugs, then wrapped her body in a tarp before placing it in a trash container. The body has never been found.
