SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) - A mother has been charged with neglect after motel guests found her toddler left alone earlier this week , Speedway Police Department officials said.
Talisha Evans, 32, told police she went to pick up two of her children from the bus stop but left one of the children in a motel room because he was asleep. Speedway Police said the mother told them she ran out of gas after picking up the children from the bus stop. She said she stopped at a gas station and by the time she returned the police had her child.
Evans was on probation for previously leaving a child in an unlocked, running vehicle in a store parking lot.
The Marion County prosecutor’s office has charged her with one count of Class D felony neglect of a dependent.
