Mom faces murder charge for baby's death

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Briana Shelton, 22, is behind bars for the murder of her 2-month-old son, according to reports.

Friday, August 19, police were dispatched to the 9800 block of Gatewood Court in regards to a child not breathing. When they got there, they found a baby lying on the floor naked and not breathing. Officers performed CPR until medics arrived. The baby was eventually taken to the hospital.

It’s unclear when the baby died. However, the Marion County Coroner determined that the cause of death was due to multiple blunt force traumatic injuries. The Coroner announced that the manner of death is a homicide.

Shelton was arrested Saturday, August 27, for Murder and A felony Neglect of a Dependant.
