KENTLAND, Ind. (WISH) - A five month undercover investigation has resulted in multiple arrests.
Twenty-seven law enforcement officers from 11 agencies from Indiana and Illinois converged on Kentland Friday morning to serve search and arrest warrants following a five month, multi-agency investigation, according to a release.
Members of the Newton County Unified Narcotics Interdiction Team and the Kentland Police Department conducted a five month long undercover investigation targeting several suspected dealers.
The suspected dealers were in the Kentland, Brook, and Goodland areas.
During the investigation, officers purchased marijuana, hashish, cocaine, and various types of controlled substances on multiple occasions, police say.
Investigators submitted the cases to the Newton County Prosecutor on Thursday.
Eleven felony warrants were issued.
Nine teams of officers executed the warrants simultaneously at 6 a.m. Friday morning.
All but two of the suspects were apprehended. Nine adults and two juveniles were arrested in Newton and Benton counties in Indiana and two adults were arrested by Illinois agencies, according to a release.
Officers also served a search warrant on a home in Kentland. Officers recovered marijuana, cocaine, and various prescription pills. Occupants of that home were arrested.
